Evolving Pavilion

Digital Generation and Fabrication Project
2016

This projects is a study of simulating natural process to generate form that have architectural potential. The Reaction Diffusion process (based on Grey Scott’s algorithm), is the process dictating the strips on zebra skin and the shape of certain types of coral. Using a computer simulation of the process, we expended it from 2D to 3D. Resulted forms sparked futuristic imagination of potential pavilion, skyscraper or jewelry. We went on to propose structural solution for one of these forms using waving technic, which was tested out by scale model.
