Float Bench

Float Bench series is about the perception and memory of the landscape, especially its rich philosophical meaning in Chinese culture, and the way it is represented by continuous brush strokes in traditional paintings.

The series consists of two benches, which derive from the abstraction of the outline of mountains and the ground. The relationships between a line and a volume, lightness, and heaviness are the things that I am interested in exploring through the design and making process. The Benches are intended for interior public spaces.
